Gettysburg college and muhlenberg college

Im applying this fall as an international student. Can anyone give me some reviews about these 2 and see if they fit?
Im asian and just a little bit into parties. But I’m worried about not fitting in if there too many whites (they seem to be reckless about their lives, and live fast, am i right?). I want to hang out with internationals as well as americans. Greek life is fine as long as the whole college isnt just about it.
Also, which one gives more financial aid to international students?
What are the local areas of these 2 like? I love urban setting, a little bit crowded streets, and chinatown
LAstly, what programs are they strong at? i will go undecided but have some in mind:sociology, tourism, film studies, global studies.
answers to any of these questions would help. tks

  1. Neither are urban, no crowded or dirty streets or Chinatown. Both are in nice safe areas. Muhlenberg is about 90 minutes from NY. Gettysburg is much more rural in a pretty area with a lot of history. Muhlenberg is a suburban location near Lehigh and Lafayette.
  2. Gettysburg has a bigger reputation for parties. Muhlenberg not as much. Both will be very fun. Both campuses are very nice. Both have very good facilities and excellent food.
  3. Muhlenberg is more science oriented. Muhlenberg also is known for theatre and music. Gettysburg is known more for humanities but a science student would do well, as would a humanities student at Muhlenberg.
  4. They are both friendly schools but very low in Asian students. Which is good for you.
  5. Muhlenberg is close to Newark Airport. It would be much easier to travel for you. You would have to drive 2 -3 hours from Newark or Philadelphia or fly to Harrisburg PA to get to Gettysburg.

Both are very good schools. Both have a small numbers of international students, but both schools profess to want more diversity. Gettysburg is in a much more rural setting. The nearest airport for Gettysburg would be in Harrisburg, PA. There is an airport in Allentown but you would probably need to transfer in either NY or Philadelphia for international flights. Greek life dominates the social scene at Gettysburg, not so much at Muhlenberg. I am not sure about your comment "But I’m worried about not fitting in if there too many whites (they seem to be reckless about their lives, and live fast, am i right?). Both schools are predominately white. I am not sure how you are defining living fast, but I think that you will find students who live at all different paces at both schools. College is often seen as a time when some young people do seem to try some reckless behaviors but I think you will find that in most cultures, not just in white ones. Best of luck to you!

“But I’m worried about not fitting in if there are too many whites (they seem to be reckless about their lives, and live fast, am I right?).”

This is what we aspire to. Tragically, however, we often fail to live up to our aspirations.

That said, Muhlenberg seems like a better fit for you. As I’m sure you already know, however, neither of your choices has many internationals.
