SATs: 680 math/600 reading (I am taking them one more time and am getting tutored for my reading, so my scores will definitely go up! I was very upset when I realized that Gettysburg doesn't accept the writing score because that was my highest)

I also went to a leadership camp for 3 years and just came back from an academy for future teachers!

Community service: Center for Food Action (100+ hours), Tutoring at library (30+h), started my own community service club at school

I want to be an American History teacher and Gettysburg is definitely my #1 choice by far!

If you haven’t made the official trip and interview at Gettysburg, do it. They like it when you show them some love. You look to be a very strong candidate, probably in line for some sort of scholarship. Best of luck to you!

I already visited there two times and am going again in about a week. I’ll be taking another trip for an interview and for more visits, so I think they know that I love it there! Thank you for your response- that’s great to hear!
I was also wondering, if others from my school apply, will that lower my chances? Will I be compared to them?

Catria- TCNJ is definitely my second choice- it’s perfect for future teachers! It’s funny that you’d mention Ramapo because I actually live in the same town as Ramapo, so that’s too close for me! Haha!
I am not sure which state I want to teach in yet, but I was told that New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and other states close by have similar assesments and courses, so it does not matter which state I go to college in and teach in.
