Hello, I am a perspective student, and I was wondering if anybody could tell me more about the Gettysburg reputation in the Business world, specifically finance. What kind of recruiting goes on in these spaces? Are there alumni working in these areas?
I am looking into majoring in econ or business, I would prefer to end up in NYC.
thanks for your time
According to this survey taken in 2013 for graduates: http://www.gettysburg.edu/dotAsset/043e0997-ed52-4ffe-a774-35a815aa2bb4.pdf
66 graduates ended up being employed in NYC which is where most employed graduates ended up working.
However, only one of the economics graduates ended up with a financial analyst job in NYC that year.
2012 was a better year for economics graduates as some landed jobs in Goldman Sachs, Bloomberg LP and BlackRock as analysts: http://www.gettysburg.edu/dotAsset/132f41e4-1c7e-4811-9da5-7fc1bdf11419.pdf
I hope this helps.
Actually looking back at that 2013 survey a couple of psychology graduates landed jobs at JP Morgan Chase as analysts so that’s 3 in total.
Edit: In addition to this, a few politics majors ended up with top job. One as an international financial analyst at the royal bank of Scotland in CT.
