Gift for Parents

IMO a gift from the heart is far more meaningful than an expensive material gift. The wife of my son's wrestling coach had each graduating wrestler give a gift to their parent(s) at the Awards Banquet. She had the wrestler hand write a thank you note to their parent(s) on semi-transparent vellum paper. She then placed the vellum paper on top of their photo (action shot) before matting and framing the gift. My son's letter read as follows:

Dear Mom and Dad,
Thank you so much for being there for me. You guys put up with everything I did. Mom, thanks for all those great meals, but a guy can only go so long on boneless skinless chicken breast. Dad, thanks for coming to all of my matches even when I didn't stand a chance. You guys have always been encouraging and supportive, thanks. Love XXXX

If you have a scrapbooking supply store in your area, ask if they have a free lance designer that could design and construct special scrapbooks for both your parents and grandparents.

wow. u are very thoughtful...i have never thought about that..lol

Mind you, I sometimes wish mine had gotten a CC editor to look at their 'heartfelt' notes. I've gotten a few backhanded compliments, such as: "Thank you for organizing my life." (accompanied by a gift--a book on Stalin). ;)

I think we should start a permanent thread with precious quotes.
Cheers' comment above could be the first
