I want to thank the teachers who wrote my letters of recommendation by getting them something cool from either Boston stores or The Coop (or other stores), but I can't think of anything to get them. I'll be going to CPW, so I'm planning to get the stuff then. Does anybody have any suggestions? I don't want to buy MIT apparel because I don't know their sizes (and clothing is freakin' expensive). Here's some background about the teachers. The first one is my calculus teacher; the second one is my English teacher who went to Harvard (so would MIT stuff not be appropriate?); the third one is my physics teacher who went to Caltech (so would MIT stuff be even more inappropriate?).

They should all love Red Sox hats.

You could get your english teacher a Harvard shirt. I remember there was one at the MIT coop: "Harvard-- because everyone can't get into MIT."

The big Coop (the one in Kendall Square) has a lot of smaller MIT-themed gifts that would be appropriate for teachers.

I don't think your Harvard and Caltech alum teachers would be too offended by an MIT-themed gift. :)

Collegealum314 - I definitely have that. Bought it online right when I was accepted. If you would like to see a picture, its the last one on the page here: Omar Abu: Goodness In the Mail

In regards to what to get, I am getting some ties for teachers and perhaps some caps or mugs.

Wow, that is a great idea - MIT-themed gifts! Why hadn't I thought of that! But anyway, I find that keychains are the best souvenirs. :)
