“How does a girl measure a guy’s “academic intelligence” anyway?”
it’s proportional to your height, duh ;)

No offense to the OP (if he is serious) but I find it a little hard to believe girls are falling all over themselves for a CS major. My first impression of a CS major (based on nothing verifiable, mind you) would be a bookish/slightly nerdy “company computer guy” a la SNL, or someone who really digs WOW.

I am MARRIED to someone with his graduate degree in CS, so I am not trying to be critical. Just saying that CS major doesn’t strike me as chick magnet material.

hahaha computer science is the worst major ever if you’re trying to pick up girls. the only girls that would like that major are either anime loving nerds themselves or gold diggers. maybe if you majored in music, creative writing, or journalism, then you’d have girls that are actually intrigued and not just assume that you’re a world of warcraft playing geek with a lot of money after graduation.

Lol, I highly doubt most girls are impressed by the fact that you’re a comp sci major. In fact doesn’t it usually portray a geek image, as indicated by your sample conversations in your classes…so either you are ridiculously good looking or the girls you talk are really nerdy?

This thread is rather incredibly amusing, I think the OP will be OK just because of personality!

Well to the OP, I think that if you’re generally perceived by girls as a somewhat attractive guy, then being in a challenging major is probably going to be a plus point in general. I.e., if you’re NOT fitting the description:

then being smart and good at what you do along with being a less than disgusting personality probably makes you pretty well off, to be honest.

If you don’t really like any major, CS is probably as good as most, as long as you’re not getting completely thrashed by it, given even if you don’t go to law school, you have another career option.

EDIT: Now I wonder what girls think of math majors ;)

I’m most impressed by the engineers, they’re so smart, really they are, they create things while everyone else just imitates. I’m a bio major (pre-med), I just memorize facts for the most part,

Best post EVER.

OP, if I were you I would focus on finding a degree/program you like instead of worrying about what other people like. Not that I can imagine CS being a chick magnet degree anyway.

Perhaps you’re just surrounding yourself by easily-impressed…people.

You know, the type that sees somebody change a light bulb by themselves and are astonished by it.

Height does matter, I’m 5’8 and I need a guy who’s at least 6’0 so I can wear heals.

Ah ha! So not only are you shallow and immature, but you discriminate against perfectly intelligent short guys! And if a guy were to wear heels, then women would find it weird. Talk about double standards and male oppression!

Actually I’ve dated shorter guys and they’re the ones who have a problem with me being taller than them, and get whiny when I wear heels. I can name a few people in hs who would not date me because of my height, but now that I’m in college I love it. If guys weren’t so focused on appearing to be the dominate one, it wouldn’t be such a problem.

(p.s. appreciate the sarcasm)

I’m the same height as preppybich and have to side with her. I don’t think I’m extraordinarily tall for a girl, but I also don’t want to pull a Katie Holmes and tower over everybody.

However, I do make exceptions. Ahem. Robert Downey Jr.
