GIS Degree/Certification?

Can you guys help me out by posting 4 year universities that offer either a Major, a Minor or a certification in GIS?
DS would probably be a major in computers of some sort and a minor in gis. But kind of unsure at this point.

I've tried the search functions here and on college board and have found them very lacking. There are schools that I know that offer such a thing that don't come up on either site so since I know of the one or two that are missing, I'm wondering how many others I'm missing.

So, anybody know of any?

Search via google. This is a good site: [Colleges & Universities | URISA](http://www.urisa.org/career/colleges)

Thnigs have probably changed since my S did this (2003 grad), but we found many GIS courses were offered through geography departments.

Texas A&M has programs related to GIS. They also have a very unique (and I think interesting) program in Spacial Sciences.

Here is a link to the Course Catalog. Check out -

page 427 – GIS Option for the Geography degree
page 438 - minor in Geoinformatics (also some info on page 428)

The University of Mary Washington in Fredericksburg, VA, has a certificate in GIS. UMW is a VA public school with around 4000 students.

The gis program at the University of Oklahoma is part of the Center for Spatial Analysis:

OU is very generous towards National Merit Scholars. I think they get free rides, or at least free tuition.

I know two OU grads with gis degrees. One has a well paying and interesting job with an oil exploration company headquartered in Norman, OK. The other had good gis related job offers, but chose to work in a different computer related field. I don’t know if the job prospects of these two is typical or not.

The site listed by cleslie is a great place to start.

My S is a geography major at the University of Kansas. It is a great program and offers a BS in Geography with a GIS concentration.

Michigan State has another good program.

Here is a website that allows you to sort based on geography field (GIS included).

There are a lot of schools that offer GIS either as a major/minor or as a certificate program.

Thanks for the great links!

I guess I should also have noted that I’d be particularly interested in Universities in FL
