Give me 5-10 SAT words that you've seen often from model tests to actual SAT's

I've seen the following words a lot.

exemplary
juxtapose
superfluous
monotonous
enigmatic
venerable

I don’t know the last word “venerable”
oh and:

cerebral
ecclesiastical
extamporaneous
obstreperous
perfunctory
cacophonous

charlatan
jocular
diffident
acquiesce
recalcitrant
saccharine

pragmatic and moribund

Compunction was the answer on the last 2 SAT’s.

Know it.

Why
would
I
tell
you?

(I kid. Seriously, though, just Google “hard vocabulary learn” and you’ll find a wealth of information, which will probably be more structured and easier to learn than a bunch of random words :)).

infinitesimal

palliative
infinitesimal
pragmatic

nuance…and blowhard ;D

this is good, keep up this thread

the one word that I can say I saw it several times is

PROVOCATIVE

honestly, if you’re only gonna bother to look over ten words, don’t bother

They LOVE the word superflous. I swear I’ve seen that every time I’ve taken it.

But check out the sparknotes website for a list of 250 “most common” difficult SAT vocab. The majority of the words mentioned in here are on that list so I’d say it’s pretty accurate.

Could you guys post the definitions as well

I actually used the list of 1000 words. Every few days, I would take down every fifty words I didn’t know, learn their definitions, and repeat the process. In all, I encountered 601 previously unknown words. It helped me a ton with the last SAT. I only omitted one sentence completion; and I’m almost positive I answered all the others correctly.

Islander- Yeah I noticed that the list of 1000 was on there after I’d gotten through S on the list of 250. I still got around 30 days before I take it again so I’ll probably get around to those.
