Give me a chance?

Hi, I'm planning on applying to Carleton Regular Decision and I'm just wondering what my chances are. Here are my stats:

ACT: 31 (taking it in September and trying for at least a 33)
Math-26
Science-31
Reading-35
English-34

AP Scores: 4 in AP Language and Composition last year, didn't take AP Statistics test
Taking 8 different AP classes this year

GPA: 3.85

Class Rank: Very bad, like 192 out of 546, because of the fact that I studied abroad my sophomore year for half the year in Spain. My counselors at school have offered to write letters to colleges explaining the class rank situation and what I would be at had I not studied abroad and was not missing credits normal students have. The reason it's so low is because my school factors in credits and grades into class rank, and because I'm missing half a year of credits my class rank suffers.

Class Rigor: Honors classes whenever possible, took a total of 10 AP classes throughout high school and Lettered in Academics every year through high school.

Extracurriculars/Offices:
Student Council-Leadership Development and President of our district, which includes all the schools in two counties and is the biggest district in our state
National Honor Society
Spanish National Honor Society
Spanish Club
Junior Class Board-Vice President
Senior Class Board-Vice President
Invisible Children- Founder (brought the organization to my school and got people interested)
National Student Leaders Against Hunger- Board Member and Public Relations Director
Varsity Track
Junior Varsity Swimming

Work Experience:
Had the same job for 3 years, but it's seasonal so I've also had another job for 2 years (about 15 hours a week).

I've volunteered quite a lot and am currently hoping to get an internship in my city's mayor's office (the chances of me getting it are quite good).

Hooks: Studied abroad sophomore year and also a first-year graduate.

I also just held a walk for Make A Wish that raised over $2,000 and am in the process of implementing a recycling program in my community’s baseball complexes
Someone please respond :(

Nebraskagal, you probably know that Carleton is a very selective school. You sound like a hard-working, well-rounded student, like most of the ones who apply there! Keep your grades up (improve them if you can) and work hard on your application and essay–get your English teacher to review it if you can. Visit the campus if possible. Your chances of acceptance will depend a great deal on the strength of your application. Of course, make sure you are applying to some “safety schools” so that you have options.

On the hooks, where you say “first-year graduate”, do you mean “first-generation”?

I think you’re definitely a qualified applicant, particularly if you have an explanation for your school’s system and how your year in Spain fits into that. Carleton is obviously competitive, so no one can say whether or not you will or won’t get in, but you definitely have a solid chance! Have you shown any interest in Carleton (tour, postcard, interview, etc.)? That can help.
