Give me some advices please! eager to go to harvard

Hey guys what up
I just finished my sophomore year, and now I am a rising junior.
My dream school is Harvard, and I am willing to take in any advice or action that will supplement my chance of getting into Harvard. I am Asian, by the way lol. But yea
During my freshman year, I attended this really bucolic college that was located literally in middle of nowhere. My class size was roughly 35 students lol. The school was really easy so my GPA was a 4. the school didnt offer any ap's or nothing. I thought i was a academic prodigy because the school was ridiculously easy and made me feel smart. i didn't have any stellar achievements in my freshmen year (won 1 district math tournament because i am asian lol, played soccer, scholars bowl which we came in third in state, and just a couple of few school awards). And that was my freshmen year.

For the first half of my sophomore year, it was the same thing. Easy grade, did nothing (had one honor class in english). Then, i had to transfer to a new school for my second semester of my sophomore year because my mom thought i was slacking off since the school was too easy (shes right lol). The school I moved to was way different (I am not going to divulge the name of the school, but it is currently #1 magnet school in the nation and #7 public school overall in the nation:not trying to flaunt or anything:). the new school was ridiculously hard, and I just finished my second semester at the new school with a GPA of 3.7uw or 4.2 w. This school made me become disillusioned and made me feel stupid. At the same time, it made me become aware of what I need to do to prove myself worthy of Harvard. Since this was my first year at the new school, i didnt have any ec or achievements whatsoever. Pretty much wasted my time. So that was my sophomore year.

Next year is my junior year, and as you know, thats the most important time that I have to embellish my resume. So I am planning on taking 16 AP Tests, 9 Sat Subjects, Qualify for National Merit Finalist, get at least 2350 on my SAT, and get a respectable grade for the AMC12 and if possible, AIME.

What I need you guys to do is suggest me what I can do to make my resume look good (just tell me what i Should do in junior year, but be specific. dont just say i need to do something others cant do. tell me SPECIFICALLY what i should do, like tell me the competitions that I should engage in that is considered prestigious by colleges, music competitions, college research stuffs, etc. i am not trying to sound exigent. I am just very eager to know What i should do because I am lost).

Heres my summary of life and my future plans so far.

Freshman: GPA 4 (Played soccer, won a district math competition, placed team third in state scholars bowl, few school awards).

Sophomore: GPA 3.7UW 4.2W (LITERALLY NOTHING, but i am attending one of the most prestigious high schools across the nation, not to be bragging).

Junior: Planning to take 16 AP TESTS, 9 subject SAT, Plan to make 2350 on SAT, Do good on AMC12 and AIME, do volunteers and stuffs at hospitals.

I have been playing piano for 7 years, guitar for 4 year, soccer for 3 years, but no notable awards in any. I am planning to major in premed or that sort of fields (not really settled).

Please feel free to give me advice or suggestions. Thanks!!!!

I think your little overboard on the ap and subject exams

There is no formula for getting into Harvard, therefore no one can legitimately give you one. And there is no “resume” that automatically secures admission to Harvard. Harvard’s acceptance rate is now below 6%. So you are really deluding yourself if you think you can strategize your way in. If you become one of your school’s very top students, with stellar grades, ecs, test scores, recs, and that indefinable “something” that catches the ad coms eyes, well maybe you’ll have a chance. But it is a reach for everyone and to pin all of your hopes on this is the surest way to really mess up your high school years, because you will have spent all of them fixating on something that may very well not happen.

My advice is: ENJOY high school and enjoy learning and developing your talents as ends in themselves, not as means to secure a Harvard admssion. And actually RESEARCH colleges. If you do the latter, you will discover that Harvard is only one of scores of fine colleges and universities in this country. Really, to be obsessed with this one school is the height of folly.

You are looking for a formula to secure your admission to Harvard. If you really BELIEVE that a formula for successful admission is possible, then you have NO idea what Harvard and other such schools are looking for in their students. So, rather than seek a forumula, why not become a stellar student, deeply involved in activities about which you are truly passionate? Apply to Harvard if you want to, and have a well-rounded list of other schools, including safeties, you would be happy to attend. If you get into Harvard, fine. If not, your life will not be over, especially if you have intelligently researched colleges and discovered others where you could be equally happy.

Seriously…Spending your high school years fixating on how to “game” an admission to Harvard is the surest way NOT to get into Harvard. Really, there is nothing we can tell you to do to “prove yourself worthy of Harvard,” beyond encouraging you to become the most stellar student you are capable of becoming.

Have fun with all those tests. Seriously though, figure out a major or something you want to work to before diving into all of those.

Dude calm down on all the GPA and testing. Do stuff you want to do, like research in subjects you’re interested in. Find an internship with college professors, start emailing them. I know more people with 3.8’s that got into Harvard than 4.0’s, because they weren’t so focused on a linear GPA and AP scores, because Harvard honestly doesn’t care that much about them. Start doing what you love, and show Harvard that you love it, but maintain a steady GPA. That’s the best way to get into Harvard.

9 SAT Subject Tests is absolutely ridiculous. You really don’t need to do more than 4.

As for AP tests, take as many as possible. Aim for the 16, but realize that scheduling conflicts may prevent that.

Anyhow, you are on a good track, so good luck!

Thanks for the advices guys… And yea i know 16 aps and 9 are ridiculous… But i already scheduled them out and i am determined to do them all since im too lackadaisical to take aggressive works in society, so i have to prove myself as academically stellar. 16 ap and 9 sat. Thats unheard of,but thats the point

16 AP’s is perfectly reasonable, it’s just that 9 Subject tests isn’t a good idea. Colleges usually only require 3. Submitting 9 just looks like you are concentrating too much on tests. Take the three or four that you know you will do well on; beyond that is unnecessary.
