--

As of now, I'm applying to:

UT Austin
Rice
Georgia Tech
Stanford
MIT

I feel rather unaccomplished compared to a lot of people on here, but whatever. I've had a great high school experience.

Electrical engineering is the most likely field I'll go into, and I'm also considering computer science. [aren't they closely related, though?]

So yeah, I'm looking for colleges with good engineering programs that I have a fair chance of getting in at. However, I don't think I'd really like a college that's small and mainly focused on engineering. I'm applying to MIT for the hell of it. As for GATech, my best friend is probably going there; I don't really want to attend.

Any help is appreciated.

Desperado~~~

Why dont you come to your senses
Youve been riding out on fences
For so long now? Freedom ? o freedom that's just people talking......

On a more serious note:

Yes, I like your school list - Rice Austin GT Stanford MIT

IMO,

Rice Austin GT - Match/Saftey
Stanford MIT - Reach

If I were you, I would add few more schools to your fine list

Texas A&M -Safety
Northwestern - Match
Berkeley - Match/Reach

Good Luck !!! :)

ka-bumppp.

Rice isn't a match/safety.

I would consider applying to Carnegie Mellon, which is better ranked than both UT Austin and Rice in eletrical engineering, and better ranked than both the two aforementioned school and Georgia Tech (perhaps even Stanford ?) in computer engineering and computer science.

yea, look at northwestern, they have really really nice tech facilities. I'm actually jealous.

in addition to those mentioned

U Illinois
U Michigan
Cornell
Wisconsin
JHU
