My son has a low GPA, around 3.0 thanks to a weak 9th grade year but has been on steady incline since and taking a rigorous IB curriculum this year. Has 1990SAT score, taking SAT 2’s this weekend. His SAT score puts him in BU’s middle 50% but not his GPA.

So if he doesnt’ get in, would he fit the general studies profile though I have been told his SATscore is higher than the middle 50 in that program. What do you think?

i applied to SMG recently with a 3.52uw/25act, go to a very competative public school in Washington State, excellent recs, ecs, essays. I am guessing my chances at SMG are slim to none, but do you guys thing i can pull of CGS?

I think his SAT is fine. I'm in BU's ENG program and I only had a 2040 for my SAT score. The gpa is obviously on the lower side but I think your S should get into CGS fine. Even though the CGS is a lower division in BU, I know many people from CGS that works extremely hard and have very decent grades (this is especially hard since bu's grading curve is very stingy).

p.s. to the person above, I think you should have a good shot at CGS.

Huskies- You have a shot at SMG, but CGS is more likely.
Besides, it's the same degree in the end, right?
ctmom: what was his SAT score without the writing component? either way i'd say he has a fairly good chance.
