GLBT Social Atmosphere at Princeton

Hi,

I've heard some not so great things about Princeton's GLBT atmosphere. Specifically, certain Daily Princetonian articles about gay people getting kicked out of certain eating clubs and the GLBT community being small.

So I thought I would throw a question out there for some answers about the situation. How is the GLBT life at princeton? I've heard most people are accepting, but does that mean there are opportunities for relationships etc?

I don’t go to Princeton, but I have a blog to recommend - Emily Rutherford at [Worthless Drivel](http://worthlessdrivel.net/) is a Princeton student who writes a lot about GLBT issues and a bit about what it’s like to be gay at Princeton. I don’t actually know her (she’s a friend of a friend), but she might be worth contacting.

I wish I could say that you’ll never see any discrimination from other students on campus but that’s not the real world. What I CAN say is that the administration at Princeton headed by President Shirley Tilghman has a very high level of sensitivity to all issues of inclusiveness and makes that known to everyone. I hope some of the above information is helpful. I know that the LGBT Center will sponsor events during April hosting and you should be able to get a lot more of your questions answered.

The most “selective” club of all, Ivy, is the most gay-friendly. Nuff said.
