Glee loves USC?

I don't know whether I'm allowed to post these links or not (they're both official), but if they're removed, I've also included directions for how to find them. :)

I was looking up a cappella groups at USC, and I found the SoCal VoCals. The first video I watched by them was Somebody to Love, filmed March 15, 2008. (it'll come up with a YouTube search for SoCal VoCals).

As I was listening to it, I went whoa, that's weird, it sounds exactly like the Glee version!

Well, it is exactly like the Glee version (it'll come up with a YouTube search for "glee somebody to love"). As far as I can tell, the arrangements are identical, except that the SoCal's has another verse and Glee's has more riffing at the end. Both groups are even costumed in blue.

Crazy, huh?

Glee does love USC. They needed a bit part filled and called the USC band looking for an African-American saxaphone player who looks like he could be in high school and voila my son’s roommate (I think he’s a psychology major) is in an upcoming glee episode. Pretty cool.
