Global Issues @ Notre Dame

Just wondering if anybody is familiar with this program.

bumping…

Happy St. Patrick’s Day!

Yup. I applied and am hoping for a big envelope in the next few days! It is essentially a great scholarship summer program. You need great credentials, as it is all expenses paid. Moreover, because of the necessary credentials, most, if not all, who are accepted to the program are also accepted to the actual university the following fall.

We are supposed to find out by April 1st! So we should be getting something either today or tomorrow! Good luck!

you too! my private college counselor (used to be #2 admissions officer at ND) said that only a few kids have ever been denied admission after going to the Global Issues Seminar. Could be getting a GREAT letter in the mail soon.

Actually they send the decisions by regular post… post marked tomorrow (according to their website). I wonder how many applicants they get.

@sMITten - I’ve been wondering the same thing… for some reason I have this idea of 15% admitted (so ~270 apply?) possibly from another thread… I can’t find it though.

I’m just hoping my letter (admitted or rejected) comes asap haha

My counselor just told me the other day how last week or so Notre Dame called him asking him to comment on my personality because he failed to address that topic in his recommendation. Hopefully their calling him is an indicator of interest, but I doubt it. :p

I haven’t received anything in the mail yet, good or bad news. I am wondering if anyone has received an envelope yet.

I have not gotten anything yet either. :</p>

I applied to the Latino thing (you can see my thread somewhere around here). Got nothing yet.

I haven’t either. I’m thinking if nothing comes by Friday, I’ll call ND. The website said they should’ve been sent out April 1… so we’ll see :)

AHHHHH! The envelope came today!!! Admitted!! So happy right now :)

All those who don’t get in - it’s just a one week program. There’s countless opportunities out there, this just being one of many. :)

ACCEPTED!! Read the other thread for my comments about how it means literally NOTHING if you are denied. BUT that being said CONGRATS TO EVERYONE WHO GOT IN! I’m really excited and I hope you are too!

@trekker & student… where are you guys located? I’m on the west coast and haven’t heard anything yet.

Bah, I got waitlisted. :frowning:
Southern California.

@sMITten - Pennsylvania. You’ll probably hear tomorrow I bet

Where in Pa? I’m in Philly area and didn’t hear.

Pittsburgh… So yeah, it probably makes sense mine would come a day earlier

I’m in the suburbs of Chicago. Honestly I’m a little surprised that it took this long.
