GLS questions?

Hey, I am interested in NYU, and especially the GLS program. I looked at the courses and the program sounds perfect for me. There are ton of requirements, which is fine because I like the requirements, but I want to be able to choose some of my courses. What portion of my classes would be taken up by GLS requirements? Also, in the junior year study abroad, are you able to live with a host family?

Thanks!

Much of your coursework will be taken up by the requirements, but you will gain freedom in choosing classes each year. It really is no different than having to do required classes for any other major in that respect. Cross-school minors, especially in languages, business, cultures, art history, and economics are also very common and very do-able.

You are able to pick your housing preferences, be it with a host family, in a dorm (if your chosen site has any), or in an apartment/flat with other students.

I hope that this helps and that I’m not too late in responding!

Thank you so much! Are the class sizes small? Would you recommend the program?
