GMAT prep !! Need advice

Hello,

I am currently a Senior-to-be-this-fall in Comp Sci program and I was wondering what advice any of the GMAT takers would have for me. I will be taking the GMAT next summer so I have a year to do some preparation. I am not worried about the quant section at all, but I am really scared of the verbal section mainly because English is not my first language.

I was thinking of reading some good books and magazines until next year, and I was wondering if there were any books/magazines you guys would recommend. I was thinking of subscribing for business/science oriented magazines such as business week/forbes/popular science. Would that help me for the critical reading section at all ?

I would appreciate any advice because I really do need to ace my GMAT to offset my somewhat low GPA. Thanks !!

Don’t ignore the math, colleges like to see very high math scores. I’m a quant and ended up doing better on the English version of the Math. Did pretty good on both though, so?

My work experience had me write a lot of technical reports, so this helped with the English. IMO, scientific journals are a lot better written than new magazines. So, I would subscribe to industry journals that interest you.
