Gmat?

According to Cleveland State's formula I would need to score a minimum of 394 on the GMAT for entrance into the MBA program. Is this a high score on this test? What is a perfect score and what are the means/averages for the GMAT.

Haha, WOW. 394 is terrible. The test is out of 800. 700+ is generally considered to be top quality.

The top 10 MBA programs have mean GMAT scores hovering in the 690-710 range. Anything lower than 650 is not going to get you into a good MBA program.

394!!!!!!!! 394!!!!!! HOLY JESUS CHRIST! I think my 8 year old cousin can get 400! You better keep a 94 mile radius from that MBA program. haha

This guy isn't trying to get into a top 10 program, I was just inquiring on the GMAT. Apparently I am a lock for CSU's MBA program if someones 8 yo cousin can score that. W00t for these schools. Not everybody is as good as Alex. LOL If you type on an American board you have to be given a good American nickname.

PS I should just apply for some jobs.

Isnt 400 average? if 400 is average why are you guys laughing at a 394?

394 is the minimum i would need. These guys arent laughing at the score, they just dont believe of existence out of the top 10 MBA programs

MBA is not like a Doctor of Medicine degree; you have to have an MBA from certain MBA programs or it won't be worth much. I live about 45 min. from Cleveland State and I've been there a few times so let me just say this much: an MBA from Cleveland State won't mean much more (if any) than, say, a BBA from Michigan. I wouldn't suggest going out of the top 40-50 MBA programs.

If somebody else is paying for it, then I would say, why not? Sure it might not be worth much. But if you're not paying for it, who cares?

MBA is often considered a useless degree in terms of compensation and quality of work a gradute experiences. Only the top 15 and some would argue top 10 schools actually result in DRAMATIC changes in earning and responsibility of work. Thus, I would recommend doing whatever work you are doing and not going to an MBA program where the score to get in is 394. Seriously, if you got a 1300+ on the SAT you shouldn't get anywhere CLOSE to that score. Thats the reason I found that hilarious.

You guys did answer a lot of pertinant questions. I was just curious because one of my instructors said something like 40% of the people who graduate from Kent with the BBA go right on to get the MBA, with the program (according to the Grad School catalog) not sounded terribly difficult. This would be in a couple years mind you, but would a program such as CWRU Weatherhead school of management or OSU Fisher College of Business be worth while? I don't want to leave Ohio, and any MBA degree would be a couple years down the road anyways.

Those are both really good schools that I'm sure would be beneficial to attend (moreso than CSU), but I wouldn't expect to pull in 100 grand a year like the top MBA programs. If you get into those programs I would say go for it!
