GMU EA Class of 2020

@bozaira it is on the website

Son accepted. Bummed that there is not a scholarship offer (2050/1380 SAT, 3.58 GPA, in state).

My son was also accepted. We are in state. Tech was his first choice, but GMU is right up there. Beautiful campus.

I was accepted into GMU and Honors College today. I was disappointed with the scholarship offer since it is my top school, and I am out of state. I received $6,000 per year, along with an extra $2,000 per year because of my attendance of a summer program.

My S was accepted with 27 ACT and 3.6 GPA. 4k per year scholarship. Out of state.

My son hasn’t heard yet. Should he be nervous?!

@yellowjacket83 did he apply early action and did he check the portal?

So I got into the honors college here which I am very happy about, but the website did not tell me if they re offering me any money/scholarship, does this mean that they aren’t offering me any at all, or are they waiting until I finish the FAFSA? Thanks, I was really anxious about this, CONgrats to everyone!

@blawsome scroll down a bit and see if its there

Yes and yes. He applied in October, automatically considered early action, right?

Yes I believe so @yellowjacket83 He should call or email the admissions office tomorrow. Good luck!

My merit scholarships were given without using the FAFSA. I know that a lot of students did not receive them.

@2016senior what were your stats to get a $10k/ year scholarship?

Please note in state or out of state

@gtgonewrong 33 ACT 94 UW GPA and out of state

I see! I just took the ACT and I feel extremely confident about my performance, I wonder if it is possible to get a higher scholarship once the score is sent.

@gtgonewrong email admissions and financial aid departments when you get your score and see what they can do

I just emailed my admissions counselor and asked if that was a possibility! @2016senior

I was just accepted! If anybody wants to make a new friend just message me cause im looking to make some early college friends as well who plan on going to George Mason too!

@geraldcrusso, did you join the Facebook group they mentioned in the acceptance letter?

My son is not on College Confidential so I’ll post for him. In state. We are in ROVA. Rest Of Virginia. Accepted to Honors. No mention of scholarship. He’s above the 75th percentile so maybe he’s in the running for another award? Two of his friends also got in today and one received some merit aid. He’s a top student too but will probably get in to other schools. I think my son has about five friends who will definitely go to GMU so it’s in consideration. He won’t decide until March.

Congrats to those who got in! It’s an exciting time and what a great Christmas present!
