GMU for AU for International Relations

Hi All,
I’m curious to get any thoughts on GMU versus American for International Relations. My son would likely be able to get accepted by both, so right now we’re trying to better understand if AU is worth what would likely be twice the price. Are there any GMU International Relations students out there that could share some insight? Thanks!

wow, thanks Adarsam

Quite frankly I don’t think AU is worth the cost for an international relations degree. Your child will get an excellent education at a much lower cost at GMU which would offer just as much opportunities as AU. Take the time to tour GMU and meet with the department faculty and students. My recommendation would be to apply early action and apply for the honors program. If accepted your child will get priority registration and be able to enroll in smaller classes.
If they are high stats they may even get a merit scholarship. GMU students are very serious about academics and with such a diverse community there is a wide range of opportunities for unique experiences and growth. I think instate students especially tend to underestimate GMU.
