GMU Transfer 2.7-2.8 GPA

I am currently in NVCC and plan to apply for spring semester at mason
My final GPA after the summer semester will be around 2.7-2.8
I have 60 credits and graduating nova with associates in general studies
I know for Guaranteed; you need 2.85
But with 2.7-2.8 which is slightly below 2.85 get me into GMU????

Are you going for just a regular transfer or guaranteed?

According to the NVCC website, you could get into GMU but you would not be guaranteed to get junior status. If you were my kid, I would tell you to take your lowest GPA courses again at NVCC to improve you grades to 2.85 GPA, and get the guaranteed transfer then.

But, it might be wiser to contact GMU and tell them your story, and ask. If it would be only one or two courses different, taking the regular transfer and starting as a sophomore in the spring but ending up as a junior next fall might be best.

Not having automatic junior status may mean more courses, so a higher cost, and possibly graduating late.
