I recently graduated from a SUNY school with a B.S in Biochemistry. However I have fostered an interest chemical engineering and the innovative problem solving skills involved to pretty much change anything. I want to know If I can return to a university for a chemical engineering degree (bachelors) or my only option at this point is to obtain a masters in chem E?

If I could return for a second bachelors, then that would be awesome because I already have the basic chemical and biological background from my biochemistry degree and hopefully my credits transfer. Thanks!

2nd bachelor programs exist, but you’ll have to check around to find what colleges in your area offer them. To be honest, though, a MS is probably a better idea. You’ll get a better starting salary with a MS than a BS. And it might not be that much longer, since with a 2nd BS you’ll need to satisfy all the requirements for the degree but with a MS you’ll only have to take the undergrad courses in preparation for the MS that you actually need. For the MS you’ll need to find a college that will conditionally accept you for the MS program and allow you to take the missing undergrad classes. I know they do that out here in CA, perhaps SUNY does as well.
