<p>Long story short UC didn't work out for me so I plan on going back to my local CC to bring up my gpa and then go to a state college. With a uc gpa lower than 2.0 will the classes that I take at CC bring up my uc gpa or will it only effect my CC gpa?</p>
<p>It’ll affect your overall undergraduate GPA, and it certainly won’t affect your UC GPA, since only courses taken at the UC will affect that GPA.</p>
<p>When applying to the CSUs, you will have to calculate the combined GPA from both your UC and CCC courses. </p>
<p>Another thing to know is when you apply to a CSU, while you use the COMBINED UC+CCC for your GPA, the number of units from either determines your transfer status–if you have more UC units than CCC units you will be seen as a UC-to-CSU transfer. If you have more CCC units than UC units, you will be seen as a CCC-to-CSU transfer. The latter is better since most the CSUs fill up first with CCC transfer students and only afterwards look to other types of transfer students.</p>
<p>I definitely have more CCC units than UC units so I may still be able to be considered a CC-CSU transfer. Thanks for the help.</p>

<p>@skystreet: which UC did you go to? I screw up at UCD and pretty much plan to do the same in going to a CSU. </p>
<p>@annikasorrensen: about the GPA determination, which source did you find that at? I am in the similar situation as skystreet. Unfortunately I screwed up as a UCD transfer and now I am back at a CC to go to a CSU. I have a lot more units at a CC than at UC.</p>
<p>I attended Davis after high school and messed up big time…I’m about to start my second year at CC and apply to CSU this fall. What CSU’s are you guys looking at? Are there any CSU’s that are particularly strong in the sciences?</p>
<p>@dubsonmommas: I plan to apply to several schools across California. For sure I am applying at Sac State and CSULA but I am considering other schools. Due to my failure at UC Davis I have to apply to less impacted campuses in hope to get admitted. </p>

<p>The one I’m at is particularly strong in engineering, science, architecture, and hospitality. However, I’m wanting to apply to UC Davis / UC Irvine because it might not be a good fit for me here and they don’t really have a unit cap. I can’t double major here either.</p>
