I am a junior in High school and I am interested in becoming a Plastic Surgeon.
My question is what College (Ivy League preferably) should I attend, and what should I major and minor in?

If you are choosing between Ivy Leagues you aren’t going to find a significant advantage of one over another. Choose the one you get into/are happiest at. I really can’t overstate the importance of happiness for your ultimate success and career, both in terms of major and university.

In summary: Go where you want and major in what you want (just don’t major pre-med/nursing/physical education. You won’t need to worry much if you go to an Ivy, they will direct you away from such things if they even have them).

@ mmmcdowe thanks for the info! Do you know how long it takes to start practicing? because from what I’ve heard to become a plastic surgeon its 4 years of college 1-3 years of General Surgery and 3-5 years specializing in your field.

Undergrad (4 years)
Apply to medical school (sometimes 0, sometimes more, average 2)
Medical school (4 years)
Research (esp. for plastics – often 1-2 years)
Residency (6 years)
Fellowship (0-2 years)

So anywhere from 14 to 20+ years, but usually around 18.

Yeah, gotta emphasize the research. Plastics has, I believe, the lowest or maybe 2nd lowest match rate of any specialty. A research year during medical school is required for all intents and purposes. You might want to try and get involved in plastics/dermatology research in undergrad, but definitely get research experience in undergrad of some sort.
