Going off campus?

How do students get on and off campus? (Specifically at Andover?)
I’ve heard that Deerfield has a school approved taxi service.
At Andover, theres a church thats 8 minutes from campus I’d like to go to. I’d be going off campus 1-2 times a week. Does anyone know if this is a possibility? Whats the process to get approved for this? Additionally, if this is possible is there a school approved taxi service that students use at Andover?

Walk. uber. Taxi.

Yes. All the details are in the handbook. But really, wait until you are accepted to worry about details.

You “have” to be 18. I’ve been regularly Ubering since 14, though.

I would imagine that each school has a variety of options, all of which must be approved of by parents/guardians. (My kid is NOT at Andover.)

For example, I had to complete a variety of blanket permission forms for my child’s school - whether they could use a taxi, whether other parents or relatives could transport them. Info for settling them up to use the T.

One point of disagreement with me and my child is that I refused to give blanket permission for them to ride in a fellow student’s car, whether or not the driver was over 18.

Of course, since boarders have not been able to casually sign out this year or keep cars on campus, the whole issue was moot.

Uber will depend on the school…we visited some schools that allowed students to use uber (at any age) and others who didn’t allow it at all.
