So I'll be going to a private school OOS this fall, and would like to take a class or two over the summer next year. Taking classes at my school would be prohibitively expensive, and since I'm instate, UT is a much cheaper option. Are students from other schools common during the summer session? Or would I feel out of place?

I’m not sure how common it is, and I’m not sure it’s going to be much cheaper. UT charges 85% of the regular tuition rate for summer classes. For accounting 311 which I’m taking this summer, it’s costing me 2k between books and tuition. If you’re looking for cheap, go to a CC.

^Definitely good advice. I looked at taking two classes at UT over the summer but just taking them at my CC instead is saving me like 2000 dollars.

Austin Community College for the win!
