Hi,

I am a parent who was thinking about sending my daughter, who goes to high school in the US, to college in Canada since tuition fees are cheaper. We are only thinking about it for her bachelor's degree. When she comes back to the US, would doing her bachelor's degree in Canada not look alright when she applies if she wants to apply for her master's degree or a job in the US? It would be nice to get some advice from people who have done this before. Thanks in advance! :)

I don’t think it would hurt her.

Does your D have dual citizenship? If not, are you sure it would be that much cheaper.

What state are you in?

Are your D’s stats high enough that she either could get large merit at some US schools or get into top schools that give excellent FA to those who qualify?

That sounds like a great opportunity! There are many colleges in Canada with equal educational excellence, but a lot cheaper. I don’t think having a bachelor’s in Canada would hurt her, there are many excellent institutions there and everyone knows how high costs are these days.
