Golden age in hip-hop

ok sheed what do you listen to?

"see, there's "rap" which is a corruption of Urban Culture. then there's "hip-hop." hip hop is REAL. those guys don't talk about "bling-bling" - ever hear of atmosphere? here, i have them on my ipod. let's buy a latte and talk about hip-hop."

everybody who discovers non-mainstream rap in college

nice hip hop (in no specific order):
lupe fiasco
gemini
nujabes
blu
common
talib kweli

tech n9ne is a rapper. he isn't hip hop. if you want to say he's something other than rap, it would be more of crossover hard rock. If you haven't heard him, though, you've gotta liste to PASEO. cause i mean, damn...
immortal technique and jedi mind trix are more of rappers with lyrics that actually mean something, imo.

oh, and there is no way lil wayne is hip hop. whomever said that is an idiot.

joe budden FTW!
he's the truth in the game right now

well wikipedia labels jedi mind tricks as a hip-hop group so it must be...

you know what's REAL hip hop? rapper's delight :D

I'm not a 'purist' like those that love their Paid in Full and 36 Chambers and nothing else, but the industry has definitely been on the decline the past few years. Big Nas and Kanye fan, as well as Common, Blue Scholars, Tech N9ne, and some Em (he's very hit or miss).
Thinking of giving KRS a legit ear though, loved his verse in Classic (Better Than I've Ever Been).
