First of all, thanks for all the great info on this site.
I am looking to go to an online school to finish my bachelor degree. I had previously decided to pursue Computer Engineering and was accepted at UC Davis and Sac State but due to some more important commitments, I was kept from attending them and have been working towards finishing my associate degree.
In looking at online univ’s, I have spoken with many pure online schools and dont like the idea of those. I then found GGU, Golden Gate University in SFO, California (close to me). They offer an excellent IT program with Oracle Partnership. GGU is known for its prestige in taxation and business law programs, especially masters. GGU is about $480/per credit hour.
GGU is non-profit school and has many ‘brick & mortar’ campuses throughout Bay Area in California. Recently, I spoke with advisor that was willing to pre-evaluate my transfer and allowed 59 units of transfer out of 90+ that i have since all of them didn’t count towards major or GE. GGU is abt $480/per credit hr.
Although GGU is well known, its not famous outside of SFO and moreover its IT program is not very well known.
I looked at CTU (Colorado Tech Univ) and there program for IT Systems Software Engineering is interesting and costs about $300/per credit hr. I dont like CTU because it sounds more like a technical school than a university. Althought, CTU claims to have many campuses in Colorado making it a ‘brick & mortar’ university as well.
With my work schedule, I can’t go to 4 year univ to finish my degree and I made a settlement from being a computer engineer or computer scientists to becoming an IT professional because the field of IT is just as successful for IT analysts, admins etc and because I am not too interested in programming and find IT field more suitable for me.
What have you heard in regards to GGU?
Please leave me with any suggestions that may help my search.
