Goldsmiths, University of London

Anyone here know anything about this school?

D2 is already attending meetings at school in regard to her study abroad for fall 2009. She is a double theatre/vocal performance major and this school has the more intense training of the other options she has, so it looks like this will be it.

D1 studied abroad in London, but she was a Syracuse student and they have their own campus in London. She pretty much had to make her own accommodation arrangements, but D2 will live in the dorms, I believe. Anyway, D1 was more located on the northwest side of London, while D2 will be more on the southeast side (which we never made it to when visiting). So I know nothing about the area, etc.

Can I ask how your D1 found her own accommodations? My D will be in London for 10 weeks from mid Jan to end of March on a study abroad program. Her school told her that their dorms are for full time students.

Sorry, I know nothing about the school you mentioned.

D1 had some recommendations on flats from other Syracuse students who had stayed in London, so they hit up those places the day after they arrived (the school provides up to seven nights stay in a hotel when they first arrive). It kind of goes by word of mouth from one group of kids to the next. She and a group of friends had already decided they would share a flat, so six girls shared a three-bedroom flat. Made it much more reasonable.

There is a Goldsmiths forum on the UK college site, The Student Room, which should be helpful.
