Hello, I’m currently a junior in high school and I’m thinking about majoring in animation and special effects in college. So far, my three top schools with a program like this are CMU, Northeastern, and NYU. I would not like to go to art school… Are there any other universities with decent art programs, preferably on the east coast? I’d like as many options as possible.Thank you!
Not on the east coast but UT Dallas has a BA in “Arts, Technology, and Emerging Communication with Animation.”

We just toured UTD 2 weeks ago. My S is interested in CS but our tour guide was an animation major. She was glowing about the major and told us the students have access to all sorts of tech including a green room with a motion capture suit.
