Need a good book that will get me at least a 550 on the math SAT section.
The book needs to be able to explain the math in detail since I originally received a 450 on the math section. Math was always my weakest subject.

Heard about 2 books in particular, Barons and Mcgraw Hill. Any of these recommended?

I don’t think you need a book for that just practice! But why not aim higher if you have the time! PWNTHESAT, if you cannot afford it just look on the website has the most basic tips and things you will need. Otherwise Grammatix guide on math. But honestly, pwnthesat got me 700+ after reading and reviewing. Just look on the website for tips!

Really? What’s so good about the book @EricSnow? How long did you study? When did you take the SAT?

Got it two weeks ago, went through in a week. I review when there’s something I’m uncertain of, but at this point I get max four questions wrong. (not exactly wrong, don’t know how to solve so guess or choose not to) I will be taking this May. It’s explained really simple, and nothing excessive just what actually works. I can solve many questions including some difficult ones in 115-30seconds now. Trust me I suck at math, but SAT seems so easy right now.

Correction 15 seconds 115 would be ridiculous!
