any suggsetions?

sophie's world by jostein gaardner, without a doubt.

yes yes, sophie's world. great book.

one world by peter singer

Sophies world is a good instroduction to basic philosophy of many philosophers. It's fairly well written although the author's feminism often bleeds through.

What're you looking for, exactly?

What kind of philosophy are you into. If you want classic trancendentalism, Walden by Thoreau is awesome. Also all of Emerson's works are real interesting. If you're into political philosophy, John Locke is amazing. Two treatisies of the Government is the foundation for the American Revolution.

Psychology, read Freud's case studies, real interesting ones like The Wolf Man. Also if you like existentialism, Victor Frankl's A Man Search for Meaning is enlightening.

I also suggest you read some fiction too. Neil Gaimen's American Gods is awesome, its funny, and philosophically brilliant. Also Salman Rhusdee's Satanic Verses is great.

Any recommended must-read for a prospective psychology major?

Yea, get a real major.

What's a 'real' major?
