jUST WONDERING WHAT ARE SOME GOOD BOOKS TO READ OVER THE SUMMER? FOR SPARE TIME, THAT ARENT RELATED TO SCHOOL? LAST SUMMER I READ THE LIFE OF PI, 1984, AND A FEW OTHERS..HAVE ANY IDEAS OR THOUGHTS??

WELL FIRST YOU COULD TRY TURNING OFF CAPS LOCK.

Then you could read Brave New World, We, and A Clockwork Orange (all good books in a similar vein as 1984, all dystopian novels).

It depends. Since its not school and they're not shoving books down your throat, read something you like. I've been reading a ton of football books, biographies, that type of thing.

I'm also reading a book called Cracked, which is about drug addiction. Not so much because I have problems, or know those with problems, but I'm a big fan of the author Dr. Drew Pinsky. It really gives you a perspective on things.

His Dark Materials trilogy by Philip Pullman if you like scifi. I Am the Messenger by Markus Zusak is also a good teen read.

read iWoz

or A Man Without a Country by Kurt Vonnegut

grapes of wrath, angelas ashes, cry the beloved country, and siddhartha.

I plan on reading Lolita and Don Quixote during the summer. I've been wanting to read them for a while, but school has gotten in the way.

harry potter and the deathly hallows :D

^^^I was just about to say that!!!! READ HARRY POTTER!!!!!!

Read "Memoirs of a Geisha" by Arthur Golden and "Kite Runner" by Khaled Hosseini.

Errr. Well I'm rereading To Kill A Mockingbird because I read it in 8th grade and I think I was too young to really get the most out of the book. Then there's my summer reading book - East of Eden. Steinbeck is cool.

You can also be lazy and read magazines and trashy teen novels. That's always fun.

yes, paperhat!! i read the gossipgirl and AList series until i get disgusted with trashy teen lit, and then i read something like lolita.

check out kurt vonnegut, the hitchhiker's guide to the galaxy (very funny), extremely loud and incredibly close, or the his dark materials series.

wow gossip girls..idk think so

Ender's Game and all it's sequels/companion books

haha I love my chick lit

I like to read fun stuff during the summer. There are a bunch of movies I want to see that were originally books and I like to read the books before watching the movies so for me my list includes:
Little Children
Notes on a Scandal
Namesake
Lipstick Jungle
The Black Dahlia

other fun books I want to read this summer include:
Fever 1793 (I read this in 6th grade, but I want to read it again)
Blue Bloods
The Other Boleyn Girl
Fever Pitch
Blonde

and Harry Potter of course!

yes...

I second all four Ender books and all four Been books by Orson Scott Card

oh and iWoz is by Steve Wozniak

Agree with chocolatelover03 about "Kite Runner." Its a great book but the dude wrote another book as well. Im reading that one right now :p. Hope to finish it soon before i get my car back :p

wait, sorry it's the Bean series not the Been series XD

Read anything by Kurt Vonnegut! It's all amazing!

I didn't like Kurt Vonnegut. I just read Slaughterhouse Five. He wasn't that great of a writer IMO.
