I believe it's legal.
From technical literature I am reading this summer.
Wileys - Introduction to quantum mechanics by Phillips;
A first course course in String theory -- Zweibach and Barton.

EAST OF EDEN. By FAR the best book I've ever read.

Demeter - Finally I've found someone else that is in love with that book as I am besides the ones I've leant my book too. One day I walked into the local bookstore, saw it on the staff's pick wall, and just shouted "Yes". I got a bunch of funny looks, but I was very excited.

sugerkim - The book itself is about as obscure as Julian Carax's novels, even though it's supposed to be a bestseller in both Spain and the U.S. I really can't figure out why no one else has read it. Read it, people! It's worth your time!

theothermuse - Oh, -The Elegant Universe- brings back memories. We watched that series of DVDs for a whole week in physics, which was probably the most enjoyable week of physics I've ever had (sad, but true). But by the end, I didn't ever want to hear about String Theory again. And then at the Columbia info session, the admissions guy was like, "And, of course, we have very notable professors. Some of you may know Brian Greene..." I wanted to bolt.

Less than Zero
Life of Pi
Catcher in the Rye
Roots

sugerkim- if you like this book I would reccomend "The Club Dumas." It is an amazing book for book lovers.

others-

Lolita by Nobokov
The Electric Kool-Aid Acid Test by Wolfe
Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintanence by Persing

Do you like Sci-fi, Fantasy, fiction, etc? What genre do you like?

I can read almost anything as long as it is written well. I'm not picky as long as it is a good book with a meaning! Usually I read fiction, but I am open to anything so go ahead... give me some books that a super smart rising freshman reads... (maybe it will be the source of all you amazing knowledge and vocabulary, because well if I could just be as smart as you then maybe I could go to Harvard and already have a spot reserved... what was that formula again?)

Thanks anyways... everyone thanks for the books... I only have to actually read one book for school well AP Euro... Girl With A Pearl Earring... Anyone read it? Is it any good?

Once Again, Thanks

I loved that book.
