Good cinema/film studies programs?

I'm looking into schools with cinema/film studies programs and was wondering if anyone knew any. I'm not looking for a film production program and plain film studies.

Thanks anything is appreciated :)

how good is your academics? SAT 2000 plus, GPA 3.9, good EC then
please go visit Wesleyan

Agree with Bears and Dogs. Wesleyan has one of the best film studies for a LAC – do check it out if you have high GPA, test scores and ECs. You can view student films on their website.

A program you might consider is the Critical Studies major in the USC School of Cinematic Arts. The $100 million dollar cinematic arts complex has just been completed.

There is much collaboration with the top notch School of Theatre and Thornton School of Music. Not as well known is the Cinematic Arts Library. There are original scripts, films, costumes, director’s notes and entire records from Warner Bros. These are available for student research.

You can study film theory or cinema history almost anywhere(from ivy league like yale to community college). I know people who saved money by studying at a good two year college then moved on to a top four year university to study production. I also know people who minored in cinema studies at a top university and decided to go get their MFA in production. You can also spend an arm and a leg studying theory at a top notch film school (USC, UCLA, Miami, FSU, NYU, etc.)
