Hi guys. I’m in high school and was wondering what classes would prepare me or look good on a transcript for business. I was thinking of AP Statistics and AP Economics. Do those sound alright? Are there any other classes you’d recommend? Also, many semester long business classes such as business law, management and finance are offered at my school, but they have a reputation of being the ‘nap’ classes because they are so easy and useless. Any feedback would gr much appreciated. Thanks!
Your highschool transcript won’t have any bearing on an MBA application unless you end up being one of those people who attends college at the age of 16 and gets their MBA by age 20.
That said, if you want to look at the incremental impact, taking those AP courses will probably help your application to top undergraduate schools which will in turn help your career applications (unless you are applying directly out of undergrad which is rare) and then influence your MBA applications.
High school business classes will make you undergrad application look weak.
Top MBA programs require a minimum of 2 years post bachelor’s work experience for admission.
