Good Engineering Safety

What are some?

Right now my safety is University of Nebraska (in-state flagship)
The college counselor at my school even said I should count on getting a full ride there.
However, what are some other good schools I can count on as a safety?

3.91 GPA
33 ACT
215 PSAT (Finalist likely)
Top 5% of class
Average public HS

Purdue University? Clemson University?

Really, wherever the heck you feel like going that’s not a top engineering school and offers your major will be fine. Prestige is not a factor in engineering.

LSU has a pretty good program, and you would get a full ride (or really close to it).

Purdue, Ohio State, RPI, RIT.

UIC might be a bit more of a match, but it’s still rather easy to get into.

Although CMU is not a safety for anyone, seeing as your stats are excellent and from you’re from Nebraska, I’d be rather surprised if you were rejected. Wisconsin also has a very good engineering school and it would be pretty safe for someone like you.

GT

(10char)

Your stats are very good, so I’d encourage you to apply to some excellent engineering schools in Cali such as Stanford, Caltech, Berkeley, Mudd (though it’s small and could be boring), UCLA, USC, UCSD and some lower UCs.

UMaine Orono would be an uber safety with your stats, but they have a great engineering program that I’ve heard a ton of good things about.

RPI/WPI i wouldn’t call them safeties though.

^^ I disagree. RPI admits about 50% of applicants and the OP is well above the 75% in grades and scores, and those with class rank are rated most important for acceptance. WPI admits more than 50%, and the OP’s scores and grades are about the same in comparison though scores are only important.

Don’t forget Rose-Hulman!

How is Rose-Hulman a safety?

because ur above the 75th Percentile ACT…?

OP needs to take SAT IIs if applying to some of the schools in post #9, if OP doesn’t want to then cross them off the list
