I am a senior with a 650 verbal and 670 math and a 31 on the ACT's. I have a 3.7 gpa (4.0 my junior year). I took two ap classes last year(AP Pysch and AP Government/MacroEconomics) I got a 4 on all three. I play basketball and golf for my high school and belong to mutliple clubs. I also have many volunteer hours. My two older sisters currently attend the college as well. Any chance of getting in ED?

sure if you show them that Colgate is your absolute number one choice and if you show them that you really want to go there.

interviews for Colgate are not required and do not affect the admissions process but be as creative as you can in your essay(s).

contact the admissions people and keep emailing them then they'll see that you are really interested. Go for it. I can't predict the future but try. Good luck.

Have you visited?

You certainly have a shot to get in ED, even if your math and verbal SAT is a little below Colgate's avg. What class rank does that GPA translate into?

my school doesnt have rankings but i would have to guess top 100 out of 400 something, so top 25%

How well had your sisters done in school in comparison?

I wouldn't think that they'll compare her to her sisters....times change....

Go for ED if you think you can make the school "yours" :)

I meant more as a frame of reference.

both my sisters had 3.8 and about 1270-1280

You certainly have a chance. I wouldn't be surprised if you got in and wouldn't be surprised if you didn't. Since ED acceptance rate is ~ 47% and RD acceptance is about half of that, I would say to definitely give ED a shot.

wait are we going off that his GPA is weighted or unweighted? casue if there weighted would he still have the same chance?

I know someone who got in with a 1310 on the SAT (when it was still 1600) and a 27 on the ACT. She had about an 89 average.
