<p>What minimum GPA should I have, in order to not be at a disadvantage when applying for internships/jobs? My major is electrical engineering.</p>

<p>I would say a 3.0 is the minimum. A 3.5 + is definitely helpful towards internships and jobs as some companies have a minimum GPA in the 3.3 - 3.5 range (from what I have seen)</p>
<p>In my personal experience as a Rice engineer, a 3.0 is not hard at all to attain, provided you put in basic effort including but not limited to doing the homework, taking the tests and doing extra credit assignments (if available) to boost your score.</p>
