Good HASS-Ds to take

Um...a current college student post! lol

I was wondering if any of you had recs for HASSDs to take. I need one more in a non lit and non social studies (or whatever category 9.00 is in) course. So I guess I'm asking sepcifically for any good hassds/the prof. that you liked/enjoyed in history, music, or linguistics/philosophy. Also, it would be nice if the HASS D wasn't so work intensive b/c my other classes for next semester are looking to be a great deal of work.

I did want to take linguistics b/c I heard rave reviews from a friend who took it in the fall. Unforunately that professor seems to be not teaching the course next year.

Gracias :).

I took 21H.504, which is Asian History (basically China and Japan). Your grade is based on one midterm (very easy... I could give you the study sheet we were given in the class and you could probably take the midterm to-morrow and ace it), two papers, and one paper/presentation. Plus there's mandatory attendance in recitation, which is only once a week. It's pretty much a class to go to once a week, maybe read up on some stuff if you like, and worry about only in the two days before a paper is due.

Both of the professors were really nice, anyway, I liked them, and you can probably develop a good relationship with them if you go to class ::cough:: Prof. Perdue was my professor, and he's the guy who wrote the response essay a while back (because I think it was his class website) saying "Stop whining, Chinese people. History is history and pictures are pictures. You want people to forget?" So depending on your opinion on that matter, you may or may not want to steer clear of him.

My s took 'A History of Modern Physics,' and liked it a lot. The prof was fantastic.
