Currently Im attending Saint Johns University (NY) and am pulling a 4.0. I dont knw where in the rankings St Johns ranks (Tier2-3 would be by guess) and am looking to get into a Top 14 Law school

St. John is definitely a well respected university, so a 4.0 GPA will be well received. I urge you to do you best with your LSAT though. A 162 on the LSAT won't usually get an applicant into a top 10 Law School like Duke. Obviously, there are cases where students with 162s get into Duke, but it isn't commonplace.

Alexandre,
TY for your help. Ive been hitting a 158-160 on My LSATs diagnostics (took 3 already and I abide by the time limits and have been using the 10 LSAT's books)

Im planning on taking a course (such as Powerscore or Testmasters) to hopefully boost myself up 10 points. Arguments are my difficulties, especially assumptions (even though they seem easy)... Any advice on what I can do?

Btw, How would a recommendation from the President of the University look on my application. I mean I know it will mean a lot, but how much?

Two things I want to ask...
If i get into a decent law school like St.Johns would it still be possible to get one of those 125,000 avg. jobs? Would big firms (NYC firms) look down upon the SJU law education as second rate.

2nd-- If i go to a schools such as Boston U. would I be able to land a job in NYC or is Boston U. Only regional and good for New england.

Is there a huge difference btwn say a tier 1 school (HYS) and a tier 1C school (UVA, DUKE, etc)

There's a very big difference in terms of how badly you can mess up and still have your choice of jobs. You can be last in the class at Harvard and still be nearly certain to get a job at a firm that pays market in any city in the country. This is not true if you're last in the class at Duke. It may not even be true for the middle of the class.
