Good match for 3.5 GPA and 1900 SAT?

Heys guys. I am a Hispanic male from Massachusetts looking for a good match for myself.
I have a 3.5 GPA and a 1900 SAT Score. For extracurriculars, I have worked 20 hours a week all throughout high school and I have over 250 hours of community service. I am President of Spanish Club, as well as founder of Cycling Club. I am a member of Model UN and I play club soccer. I am looking to major in Computer Science and I was wondering what school, besides UMass Amherst, would be a good match for me. I would prefer staying on the East Coast, especially up north. Florida would be nice as well. I would also prefer a more urban campus than a rural campus. Overall though, a large, diverse student body would be great. Right now, Northeastern University is my #1 choice but I think I would have some difficulty getting in.

You might try the couple of threads that are focused on the 3.0 - 3.3 GPA student for some ideas. Even though your GPA is a bit higher, you might get some good suggestions.

how rigorous was your courseload? What can your family afford? No sense compiling a list of unaffordable schools.
What has your guidance counselor suggested?

Be sure to apply to UMass Lowell as a safety.
Also consider the fact that Hispanics are underrepresented in Computer Science. That might work in your favor at some schools, especially STEM schools. Have you looked at schools like RPI, WPI, RIT?

What are your parents saying about how much they’ll spend each year? OOS publics are expensive unless you qualify for merit scholarships…not sure if your 1900 and 3.5 are high enough at the schools that give merit. What is your M+CR?

Your cost constraints would be relevant. Have you run the net price calculators on various schools you are considering?

UMass - Amherst is a perfectly good school for computer science.

If you scored at least a 1290 on the M/CR part of the SAT (or 29 on the ACT), Nova Southeastern in Ft. Lauderdale, FL will give you a full tuition merit scholarship + the potential for more toward room and board (2 - 9K more). I just checked their majors and they do have computer science + computer engineering (along with another computer something, but I’ve already forgotten what that is).

We just visited the school last week not expecting much and were pleasantly surprised by what we found there. (We were not looking at CS though.) They seem to be a terrific option for those with good, but lower than typical cc scores, who are looking for significant aid. All courses are taught by profs and all classes are small (<44 - many < 24). There are honors options with even lower class sizes.

Nova Southeastern started off as a grad/prof school and has more recently expanded into undergrad. They currently have roughly 6000 undergrads.

They may not be for you (and I can’t speak for CS), but they are worth checking out IMO - esp if looking for merit aid.
