I have a nephew who applied ED-II to Brandeis and I want to ask him, supportively, without making him more nervous, whether he got accepted. Does anyone know if today is the decision-notification day to candidates? I thought I remembered his mom saying “Feb 1”
Many thanks and have a great day in Waltham!

as eager as you are, if you really want to be supportive -- wait. even if there is an "official" date - brandeis usually mails the letters so it can take a while for everyone to receive theirs. if there is good news, they'll probably let you know -- if you have to ask them, there probably isn't any good news.

also from admissions website: "* Admissions notification date is the date letters are postmarked and sent in the mail" http://www.brandeis.edu/admissions/applying/dates.html

Yeah, I didn't get my ED1 notification until three days later.

Thank you, I'll take your advice. I'll chill and wait a week to see if they email out some good news. Otherwise, I s'pose there's also the chance of deferral to the final round?
I really, truly want to be a great aunt and simply hope for the best. I'm a big Brandeis fan. I see lots of kids happy with their education from there.

of course I meant: I'll wait to see if my NEPHEW mails out good news to his extended family!
I'm not faking it here...
glad i'm not young anymore. too much stress.

YAY! He got in! Heard from my family by email. They're all excited. So I wrote him a happy note.
Thanks for all your good advice.
