Good (or Crazy) Topic?

So, I'm brainstorming topics for one of my college essays and I thought about one of my most obvious passions, writing, and I came up with the idea of writing an essay where I'm sort of having a conversation with my pen, since it's become my hallmark writing utensil, and going back through time and retelling different experiences with writing. I would particularly concentrate on my experiences as a reporter and editor in chief of my high school's newspaper. The experiences are interesting, including one in which I interviewed a very newsworthy and well known individual.

What do you think? Creative, makes sense, or just plain crazy?

Thanks!

I actually know someone who wrote an essay similar to that, and it turned out really well. It was creative, and really highlighted his unique love of writting. As long as it's written well, I think that's a great idea.

Thanks; it may sound confusing but it all somehow makes sense in my head. =)

Anyone else?

Honestly, it sounds great. Topics like this are always great because they are unique and different from every other topic. Good luck.

I like it when people address essays to inanimate objects. Go for it!

Another thing you might consider is having the pen write the essay... as in, the pen addressing you in the essay. Just an idea. I once read an essay which was written by a room and it revealed a lot about the owner.

OMG, thanks! I thought everybody was going to think I'm crazy like, "Why is this girl talking to inanimate objects?"

Thanks everyone!

Ooh, I love it! That's such a good idea. Good luck!
