hello guys. i am not taking any of the AP tests, but need to choose some good books to freshen my knowledge of chem and physics during the summer before starting college (i have been out of school for almost two years). so i thought AP prep books would be just perfect for that.

i'm an intn'l student, so i need smth that is quite easy to understand yet contains enough info for a future science major. what do you think of PR or Larry Krieger's Crash Course, for physics and chem?

any advice would be much appreciated! thanks.

The AP prep books are really only good for reviewing everything you need to know for the tests and getting you familiar with the questions, not for actually teaching the subjects even if you’ve had the class before and compared to a good textbook are laughably simplistic. I suggest that you get some good textbooks and start reading through them. There are many great texts that introduce you to physics and chemistry. Atkin’s Chemical Principles is a good chem book and The Feynman lectures explains physics nicely.

For Physics I really like Princeton Review. Chem I am not sure.
Since you already learned the stuff, just read the review books and you should pick up the information really fast. Also borrow a basic textbook from the library or something, most of the textbooks are about the same.
