Summer Study Plan (AP Chem+ Physics B)

Hey guys. I'm a sophomore right now, upcoming junior that's taking AP Chem and AP Physics B next year. I know these are hard classes, so thats why I want to study them during the summer so I wont have it so hard next year. (Straight As so I "should" be able to take it)

For Chemistry, I originally planned on reading Zumdahl's Chem 7th Ed. book, which my school uses. However, I have now realized that might not be as easy as it sounds. I heard it was too hard for a student with no background of chem like myself.

I was wondering if anyone could recommend me any chem textbooks that is both simple and easy to understand and will prepare me for the rigorous book of Zumdahl's? I will read it during the summer, and hope that will help me with next years AP Chem and Zumdahl's which I will read over the summer too if I have time. Preferably with less pages?

Also, I'm also going to self study Physics. I heard that this is an easier class to take, and if it helps, I'm taking Calculus BC next year. Can anyone recommend me a good textbook for AP Physics?

Thank you for your suggestions!

AP Physics B: Cutnell and Johnson’s book is great. It explains concepts well (by not being too technical, complex, or wordy). The pictures are also really cool to look at.

Well, all the basics of chemistry is taught in Zumdahl but in-depth though, and I was able to learn them in Chemistry and Chemical Reactivity.

Well, for my textbook recommendation for

AP Chemistry:
-Chemistry: The Central Science
-Chemistry: The Molecular Nature of Matter and Change.

These two books explain concepts really well for me to understand unlike the chemistry book I have previously mentioned.

For AP Physics B, I agree with 314159265. I do like the Cutnell and Johnson book.
