Good place to watch the sunrise an sunset in UM campus

I would like to watch the sunrise and sunset because I read about the benefits of sungazing. But there are lots of buildings and trees covering up the rising and setting sun. Where would be a good place to sungaze?

A rooftop, maybe? There’s a couple of 'em in the city haha.

is there a rooftop where anyone can go up without keys?

Every city’s got buildings with ladders up to the roof. I’m sure you can find one with a bit of exploration.

AFAIK, all buildings have ladders to the roof, but it’s from the inside and you need keys to go through the opening.

I live in a small town and there are buildings around that have ladders from the outside to the roof. There’s bound to be a couple around that are like that!

They have a parkour (city free running) club at U of M, so they’ve gotta get up there somehow.

Wouldn’t it be kind of dangerous to climb up from the outside?

Yes and probably illegal.

What about the roof level of a parking structure? I don’t know the area well enough to make any new suggestions, but that’d be a roof you could get onto.

Come on, it’s college and you’re worried about legality? I dunno if you’ve been to AA, but laws aren’t exactly strictly enforced haha.

I think the roof of the parking structure would work. Thanks.

parkour team ****s around on top of the dental school building. see if you can get up there.

South Quad 9th floor

As a fundraiser, my kids’ school cleans up the big house on Sunday mornings after home games. One thing that makes this messy task worth while is the beautiful views of the sun rising over the campus. You don’t realize that the stadium is at such a high elevation. As for sunsets, the Gallup Park/Huron Parkway bridge over the Huron River comes to mind.

Maybe on of the high points at the Arb? A pretty place to go sunset or not.

Perhaps try the rooftop of one of the parking structures as a safe alternative to climbing up ladders.

I also think there are buses that go out to the rural areas. Try that.

I was thinking about the Big House and the arb.
