good psychology programs

...for a decent student tranferring from a state school. I have around a 3.6 gpa, where should I apply for psychology?

What part of the country are you interested in? How many students in the school? What type of weather? What type of social life?

Almost ALL schools have good psychology programs. Base your choice on fit.

What kind of school do you want?

UCLA's psych program is pretty good...but I don't know where you're transferring from...

My answer is based on my knowledge of graduate programs in clin. psych but hopefully there is some correlation between the two.

Good psych programs: UCLA, Baylor, Michigan, Rutgers, Wisconsin-Madison, Berkeley....

Hope that helps!

There are different kinds of "psych" --- are you interested in cognitive, behavioral, research, abnormal, etc.? Each school that is considered strong in psych has its own focus. What do you want? Think about that, then visit the psych dept. page at various colleges. Also, you will probably want to follow up an undergrad psych degree with some grad work. Are you interested in research, clinical, counseling? You should probably think about that as you plan out your options for schools.

I wonder if the OP wants a private, since they're transferring out of a state school...?

Give us some criteria.
