Also this grid in question: the number n is 2 digit number. When divided by 10 the remainder is 9 and when n is divers by 9 the remainder is 8. What is the value of n?

Picture is pretty crappy haha just give the BB page #

grid in answer is 89
to solve this, work your way back from 100 with multiples of 9 then add 8.

so 90+8 doesn’t work
go to the next factor, 81+8, bingo!

First question: Jackson family stayed from the 4th to the 14th nights. That’s 10 nights. Callan stayed from the 9th to the 14th. That’s five nights. Benton and Epstein stayed from the 6th to the 14th. That’s 8 nights each. And Liu stayed from the 1st to the 6th.

Which night had only one family staying? The 3rd. The key to this question? Pushing all other families down the list, and saving 1 night at the top part of the list for only 1 family.

Second question: If n is divided by 10, and the remainder is 9, therefore n possibly = 10+9 = 19.
And if n is divided by 9, and the remainder 8, therefore n possibly = 8+9 = 17

Now let’s get a common number. Keep adding 9 (divisor) to 17 , and 10 (divisor) to 19 until both numbers are equal. That will only first occur at the number “89”.

Now try it out. Indeed, 89 divided by 10, gives a remainder of 9. 89 divided by 9, the remainder is 8 indeed. 89 is the correct answer.

Good luck on Saturday.

For number 8, the Jackson family stays 10 consecutive night. If you start on day 14 and count back, the first day they began their stay was day 5. Since they stayed the longest, no other family besides either the Bentons or Lius could stay be on day 3. You can start it on the other side of the number line for this one. Answer is A. Sorry if my explanation is a bit wordy. If you need more help, I can try to clarify.

For the grid in, the answer is 89. The first limitations include being a 2 digit number and having a remainder of 9 when divided by 10. This automatically narrows the list of numbers down to: 19,29,39,49,59,69,79,89, and 99. To have a remainder of 8 when divided by 9, you need to have the number being divided be one less than a multiple. 89 is one less than 90. There is your answer.

Update I got more questions, these are all from official tests btw:
